I have been playing bass for 17 years and in that time it has taken me on journeys i could have never imagined.
I started out like any kid with big hopes and dreams...in the garage with my highschool buddies. We were called Dead
Animal Pickup and though we aspired to be the greatest band the world had ever known, we managed only to take our high school
by storm. But we had some of the best times of our lives doing it. I continued to play and practice dillegently
and after a few youthful projects ended up in a band called Cousins of the Wize. We became the top drawing band in the
Phoenix area easily drawing 500+ people to each of our shows. This band featured the best players I have ever shared
a stage with and marked an era of endless creative possibilities. We created quite a buzz and went to L.A. to showcase
for various interested record labels on several occasions. Our sound was difficult to place neatly
into a predetermined genre which led to hesitation on the part of the interested labels....that and our lead singers
penchant for verbally chastising and turning his back on label people during our showcases! Around this time, I began
playing simultaneously in 2 other projects called Yoko Love and Trik Turner. Yoko Love was a 20 something year old bass
players dream. The musicians in the band were top notch players and Yoko shows were alot like drunken spring break
fiestas, flashing boobs included! The music was bass driven and the bands live draw was in the hundreds. The other band,Trik
Turner was formed by a hip hop producer that I had laid alot of tracks for and he invited me into the project as a player
and songwriter. So, now i'm playing in three bands and after ten years of "trying to make it" I decided it was time
to pursue a more realistic career, airline pilot. I enrolled in Arizona State Universities flight program, got my pilots
license,..... and then it happened! (click on Portfolio above for the rest of the story!)
